

It is with a great deal of heartache that we must announce the passing of Steven Jerry Cook who died from a brain aneurysm on May 9th, 2017 in Webster, Texas . He was born on September 4th, 2017 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to Tony Bruce Cook and Loretta Irene Stone.
When Steve was 3 months old his family moved back to El Cajon, CA where he lived most of his life. Steve attended Meridian elementary, W. D. Hall elementary, Greenfield Jr. High and Granite Hills High School. Throughout his childhood Steve was very involved in many sports. Those include baseball, soccer, wrestling and BMX.
As an adult Steve was a champion mountain bike racer. He also loved the desert where he rode motorcycles and the river where he loved to wake board.
Steve worked in construction for most of his adult life. He operated heavy equipment and did construction plumbing. Steve moved to Texas for the last 3 years and was a crane operator.
While in Texas Steve began his relationship with Danielle Wright who was by his side up till the time he died. She made him so happy for the two years they were together.
Steve is survived by his mother Lorie Perry (Rick Perry), his father Tony Cook, his girlfriend Danielle Wright, brother Vinny Ruiz, sister Jennifer Cook, Grandparents George and Glenda Stone, Grandmother Lucy Cook, aunts Deborah Von Hagen, Nancy Melissa Stone and Dee Dee Cook, Uncles George Stone and Christopher Stone and cousins Shane Von Hagen, Mitch Stone, Carrie Klein, Ronnie Von Hagen and Hannah Stone.
Steve’s Celebration of Life will be held at the El Cajon Mortuary, 684 S. Mollison Ave., El Cajon, CA 92020 on May 22nd at 10:00 a.m. Directly after the service Steve will be taken to his final resting place at Singing Memorial Park located at 2800 Dehesa Road, El Cajon, CA 92019.
