
Stuart Irving Hoffman, born June 8, 1934 in Richmond, Virginia passed away at age 83 on Monday, August 7, 2017 in El Cajon, California. Stu, a loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather was best known as a talented computer programmer, civil war enthusiast and amateur photographer. Stuart was born to Irvin Lafay Hoffman and Doris Amelia Millington, the first of two children. Times were tough and Bobby, Stu’s younger brother was given away to another family the records of which were lost for over 50 years. Stu eventually found his brother and they shared a few good years rediscovering each other. After high school Stu joined the Navy did a full tour, got out, found out getting jobs were very tough and enlisted in the AirForce. Part way through his tour in the AirForce he was wounded in the eye and given a medical discharge. Stu became a computer programmer at Rohr Industries, met his eventual wife Dona McRay. He is most proud of his 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
