Vincenza "Jennie" Virgilio. August 3, 1923 - December 10, 2015. Jennie passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 10, 2015 in San Diego, California at the age of 92. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 3, 1923 to Alberto and Rosa Navetta. She is survived by her sons Jim Virgilio, Tom Virgilio (Mona), daughter Mary Sagart (Shawn), sister Mary Bilich, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Zeno, her husband of 61 years, sons Bill and Albert, grandson John and brother Louie.
Jennie was a devoted wife and mother. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her. She often said she was grateful for the good life God gave her and felt fulfilled by the love of her family. She was a gifted storyteller with a quick wit and good sense of humor. She was generous, kind, and always put others before herself.
Jennie was known for her homemade Italian cannoli's, cookies, spaghetti and meatballs. She will be remembered for her warm spirit and welcoming smile.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery Chapel, 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego, California 92102.
