Alice T. Owen

Alice T. Owen, 88, of El Dorado, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born January 2, 1934 to Samuel Elza and Mary Lou Tanner Thurmon in Bernice, LA. She was an administrative assistant for Wheeling Pipeline and was a member of West Side Baptist Church. Preceding her in death are her parents; husbands, Earl Williams, Grady Gills and Edgar Owen; brothers, Jack Thurmon, Joe Thurmon; sister, Gene Justen; and son-in-law, Edward Brown. Survivors include her daughters, Elaine Andersen (Martin) of Camden, Janie Brown of El Dorado, Cathy Caldwell (Sonny) of Junction City, Evelyn Cupples (James) of Parkers Chapel; son, Clem Gills (Patty) of El Dorado; grandchildren, Jenny Sanders (Cory) of Camden, Jake Caldwell of Junction City, Jamie Cupples, Roxanne Robison (Jeff), Natalie Nolden; brothers, Mack Thurmon (Mary Jo) of Lillie, LA, Donald Thurmon (Louise) of Monroe, LA, sister, Francis Green of Magnolia; sister-in-law, Bettye Thurmon Raley (Harold) of El Dorado; nine great grandchildren including, Audrey Sanders, Anna Sanders, Jacob Caldwell, Ethan Caldwell; and a host of nieces and nephews along with her best friend, Marvin Williams. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2022 at West Side Baptist Church with Rev. Cody Lain and Rev. David Voss officiating. Burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery in Summerfield, LA under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the church.
