

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Douglas Ligon, Jr., and Bertha S. Ligon, her beloved husband of 35 years Jay Fly, and daughter Faline Fly Welch.
Kay is survived by her 3 daughters, Debbie Bates Kelley (Bill) of El Dorado; Karan Bates McElroy (Ricky) of North Richland Hills, TX; and Fonda Fly Hicks (Richard) of Cleveland, MS.; 8 grandchildren, Ryan Brown, Tyler Brown, Sarabeth Ferraro, Hannah Hardin, Mykalah Soliz, Roddy Johns, Colton Johns, and step granddaughter Joy Kelley; brother William Douglas Ligon, III (Peggy) of Birmingham, AL; and her 2 special daughters and friends Norma King and Lea Essman.
Kay worked for Hanna Law Firm for the last five years as an administrative assistant. Earlier in her career she worked at several businesses around town including Ken's Discount, L & R Contractors, Mid-South Heat & Air as a bookkeeper. Also, she worked at Babcock Auto with her husband Jay, as owners.
Kay enjoyed reading, gardening, and taking trips when she was able. She was loved by her family and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Matt Callaway and the staff at John R. Williamson Hospice House.
Visitation will be Thursday October 20, 2016 at Young’s Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday October 21, 2016 at Iron Mountain Baptist Church with Reverend Allen Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 PM at Leek Drake Cemetery in Star City under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Pall Bearers will be John Brown, Bruce Gilmore, Jonathan Lawrence, Randy McElroy, Jimmy King,and Jerry McLelland.
Honorary Pall Bearers are Dr. Jim Sheppard, Joe White, Albert Hanna, and Gordon Byrd.
Memorials may be made to Iron Mountain Baptist Church, 2227 Iron Mountain Rd. or to the John R. Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnolle both located in El Dorado, AR 71730.
