Billie Marie Owens

She was born September 8, 1943 in Henderson, Nevada to Thomas Richard Curtis and Juanita Hoover Curtis. She was a member of Cornerstone Church in Smackover. Marie devoted her life to oversee the wellness of many while working as a RN and Unit Director over the emergency room at Warner Brown and Medical Center of South Arkansas where she retired. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her many hobbies included vacations at the beach, skydiving, bungee jumping, fast cars and shopping on QVC. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She will be missed by everyone who know and loved her.

Preceding her in death are her parents; a sister, Anita Faye Curtis and two grandsons, Adam Lee Owens and Chancelor Lee Owens.

Survivors include two sons, Alton Wayne Owens (Lori) and Glen Ray Owens, Jr. (Penny) both of El Dorado; grandchildren, Ashley Palmer, Alton Wayne Owens, Jr. (Mittie), Allan Heath Owens, Kalie Marie Owens, Dustin Ray Owens, Chase Tanner Owens, and Colton Wade Owens all of El Dorado. Nieces and nephews, Marie Woodell of Pryor, OK, Jimmie Collins (Bill) of Mid West City, OK, Wayne Burton (Kristi) of El Dorado, Brenda Smith (David) of Smackover and Grady Farnell (Kathy) of Sulfer, OK.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Cornerstone Church in Smackover with Rev. Danny Malone officiating. Burial will follow at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be held 5:00 –7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

The family will be at 1934 Parker’s Chapel Rd.
