

Charles W. “Buzzy” Nesbitt, 91, of El Dorado, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2011, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. He was born April 6, 1920, to William Henry and Mary Frances (Hardin) Nesbitt. When he was little, everyone called him Buzzy. He wasn’t given a formal name. When he began school, he was told that he had to have a name. After talking with the local barber and hearing some suggestions, “Buzzy” named himself Charles Wilbur.
Charles was a retired refinery operator for American Oil Company. He served his country in the Arkansas National Guard and US Army. Mr. Nesbitt loved serving Jesus and telling people about Him. He also loved his church, his family and playing golf with anyone who was ready and willing to play.
Preceding him in death are his parents, William Henry Nesbitt and Mary Frances (Hardin) Nesbitt; his wife, Lucy Meggs Nesbitt; two brothers, Elvie A. Nesbitt and Henry Wayne Nesbitt; and four sisters, Myrtle Miller, Mildred Setliff, Bonnie Ware, and Betty Carroll.
Survivors include two sons, Charles “Tom” Nesbitt of Pea Ridge, AR; Bobby Nesbitt and his wife Ava of Texarkana, AR; two daughters, Cheryl Tucker and her husband Terry, Kim Humphreys and her husband Ed all of Smackover; a sister Frances “Tootsie” Haile of Norphlet; nine grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Young’s.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2011, at First Assembly of God Church in Smackover with Pastor Mark Stratton and Rev. Danny Malone officiating. Burial will follow at Sycamore Grove Cemetery in Norphlet under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
