He was born August 9, 1947 to J.C. and Verline Templeton Atkinson in El Dorado, AR. He retired from Monsanto Oil and Gas and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Pam Atkinson Rumsey.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Atkinson; son, Lance Lynn Atkinson; granddaughter, Brooklynn McIntyre (Chris); and two great granddaughters, Allie and Ella all of El Dorado.
Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Young's Funeral Directors.
