Darce Gene Bishop

He was born on May 19, 1923, in Union County, AR, to John Henry Bishop and Mary Mellie Snider Bishop. Darce was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Darce retired as operations superintendent after 41 years with Lion Oil. He was a faithful member of Marysville United Methodist Church. Darce loved gardening and also enjoyed nature especially while hunting and fishing.

Preceding him in death are his parents, two brothers Harold Bishop and Edward Bishop; and his wife of 69 years Arlene Owens Bishop.

Darce is survived by daughters, Janice Goldman and husband, Gary of Malvern, AR, and Pat Santone and husband, Kevin of Ben Wheeler, TX; son, John Bishop and wife, Becky of Greenville, TX; five grandchildren, Christy Galbraith of Tyler, TX, Angie Day and husband, Tommy of Canton, TX, Jamie Larson and husband, Ernie of Malvern, AR, Lisa Hamilton and husband, Alan of Dallas, TX, and Mary Dickson and husband, John of Lavon, TX, and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Marysville United Methodist Church in Marysville, AR with Rev. Mike Nichols officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Marysville Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. Visitation will be from 1 pm until service time Saturday at the church.
