Edward E Baggett

Edward Eugene “Gene” Baggett, 98 of El Dorado passed away at Life Touch Hospice July 17, 2016. He was born November 7, 1917, in Dierks, AR, he is the triplet son of William S. and Lula Amanda McCaskill Baggett.

He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Marzelle Sellers Baggett; his triplet sisters, Oldene and Imajean Baggett, sisters, Betty Lecroy, Thelma Wright, Eunice Hutson; brothers, Jim, Horace, Roy and Bob Baggett; and step-son, Paul J. West.

He is survived by his wife, Estelle McGaugh West Baggett; son, Dennis Baggett; sister, Barbara Atwell; step grandchildren, Jeffery and Amber West; great grandchildren, Hope and Kelsey West, Arik Nelson, and Mason McClure; and many nieces and nephews.

In 1927 his family moved to Hot Springs, AR, where Gene completed his education. In 1939, Gene moved to El Dorado, where he worked in sales until World War II. He served in the United States Army from 1942-1946. He came back to El Dorado and owned Baggett Motor and Trailer Sales.

He was a longtime active member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Young’s Funeral Directors.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at St. Mark United Methodist Church with Rev. Winston Roden officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
