It is with deep respect that we acknowledge the passing of Elvin D. "Ed" Brantley, who entered into eternal rest on December 22, 2025. after fighting a lengthy battle with cancer. His beautiful wife Gloria O'Dell Brantley was by his side along with their two children, Kim Brantley Lowery and Edward D. "Doug," Brantley.
He was born on February 2, 1945, to Lonnie Elvin and Izona Smith Brantley. Ed was a loved husband, daddy, pop, and friend. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Leana Mae Brantley Norman. He is survived by his wife, two children, son in law, Mike Lowery, granddaughter Amanda Lowery Simpson (Lewis), great grandson Kylar Lowery and his fur baby Hotrod.
A man of ingenuity and intellect, Ed spent his career as a designer of specialized machinery for the oil and gas industry leading, mentoring, and training employees to run global operations. He left a lasting impact on infrastructure across North and South America. Ed's hobbies included camping, carpentry, tinkering in his shop, and spending time with his grandchildren.
If you knew Ed and pierced through to his inner circle, you'd know that "Mr. Harmony" wheeled the Gray Dodge around the tri-county area and would share an occasional uh-huh and nub while at Mac's and Brookshires. While we were playing checkers, Ed played chess! We will always remember "the little games"; the mold was broken when he was born. Semper Fi and God Speed, heaven's gates are protected by another marine.
At Ed's request, there will not be a funeral or memorial service as he requested cremation. In Ed's honor, share a smile and wish someone a great day.
