

He was born Dec. 15, 1928 in El Dorado, to C.W. Worsham and Nora Rogers Worsham. He was affectionately known as “Papa Bear” and “The Patriarch of Block Street.”
Before retiring, Fred worked as executive vice-president at Wheeling Pipeline until 1983. He was featured in the company’s newsletter after 25 years of service. He started at the business rating and coding tickets, and followed with traffic and sales work and coordinated operations with traffic and sales. He was responsible at various times during his employment with Wheeling, for every company activity except accounting. He was on the board of directors and was a vice president for 15 years.
When Wheeling Pipeline was sold to Miller Transporters out of Jackson, Miss., Fred worked as regional sales representative.
Fred was a 1946 graduate of El Dorado High School and was named "Most Handsome." Fred met Sue, the love of his life, while attending Magnolia A&M. He was a 1950 graduate of the University of Oklahoma and was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Motet choir.
Following his retirement, Fred and Sue founded South Arkansas Fights AIDS in El Dorado. They were honored in 1993 as two of El Dorado's Five Who Care.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a son, Fred Worsham Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Sue Stinson Worsham of El Dorado; a daughter, Vicky Worsham DeLone of El Dorado; his favorite granddaughter, Melody DeLone of Little Rock; and a niece, Mrs. Roger Sweet (Lisa).
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, at First United Methodist Church in El Dorado with the Rev. Keith Dodson officiating. Cremation services were entrusted to Young’s Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Directors.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Janet and Randy Beane, Dr. Kristi Elia, Dr. William Harper, Dr. Larry Ezell, and neighbors, Rob Mitchell, Chuck Sitton, Vicki and Randy Templeton, and Teresa and Ted Botner. Also serving as honorary pallbearers will be Roger Sweet, Bill Noble, and Susan and Stow DeLone.
The family would like to thank Sandra Lee for her care during the past several years.
