Harry Pope

Born February 27, 1950, in Remirmont, France, he was the son of Ralph Allen Pope and Lucienne Wagneck Pope. He worked as a welder for Long’s Sheet Metal. Harry enjoyed teasing family and friends, and he was always tinkering. Everyone called him when something broke down.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and a nephew Rodney Henderson.

Survivors include his wife Caye Cogburn Pope of Smackover; daughter, Kelly Pope of Smackover, (and his second daughter, Jamie Blackwell of Smackover); brother, Frank Pope (Rozanne) of El Dorado; and five sisters, Helene Rainwater (Leon) of Moro Bay, Betty Davis (Elonzo) of Smackover, Carole Dumas of Dothan, Alabama, Pat Plume of Ridgecrest, CA., and Monique “Cookie” Webb (Jerry) of El Dorado; nieces, April Payne, Leah Dumas, Natalie Webb; nephews, Chris Pope, Rick Dumas, Josh Dumas, Shane Davis, Joey Shockley, Derrick Webb; several great nieces and nephews; and one granddog, Coco.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, August 16, 2013, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Bob Inmon officiating. Interment will follow at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. No suits allowed, casual dress only.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm, Thursday, at the funeral home.
