
James “Jim” Cobb, 90, of El Dorado, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born July 3, 1921, to Elmer Clyde and Margaret Louise Knapp Cobb in Union County, Arkansas.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in WWII, he retired from Monsanto Chemical Company, where he worked as maintenance foreman, a member of Golden Kiwanis and St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his loving wife of 50 years, Melba Telford Cobb; and a brother, Ralph Cobb.
Survivors include his daughter, Danita Cobb Frisby of Issaquah, WA; two granddaughters, Shawndee Bonwell (Wayne), Shannon Haws (Chadd Rule); and two great grandsons, Rykker Rule and Kyle Haws all of Lemon Grove, CA.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2011, at Young’s.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church with Father Charles Chapman and Father Robert Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
