Jamie Marie Gunter, 74, of El Dorado, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026. She was born on February 17, 1952, to James B. Morgan, Jr. and Carmen V. Spooner Morgan in Magnolia. She leaves a legacy of kindness, faith, and love that touched all those who considered her family—whether by blood or the bonds of friendship.
Jamie’s life was grounded in faith and devotion to those she cared about. Her warmth made everyone feel welcome, as she treated friends and neighbors like family and cherished the little ones with the gentleness only a grandmother could offer.
Jamie built her career in land management at Deltic Timber before she retired. After retiring, she embraced her creative side through cooking, sewing, and painting. She was a long-time member of the College Avenue Church of Christ.
She is survived by her two children: Heather Gunter (Sam Hallam) of Seattle, WA, and Phillip Gunter of Conway, as well as her sister, Claudia Griffin of Hope, and her brother, Harry B. Morgan (Vicki Morgan) of El Dorado. In addition, she leaves behind nieces, nephews, and numerous beloved relatives.
Jamie was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Gunter, and her parents.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, followed by a memorial service at 10 a.m., both at College Avenue Church of Christ. Young's Funeral Directors will oversee arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Kurios through College Avenue Church of Christ, 1817 N. College Ave., El Dorado, AR, 71730, or to Conway Human Development Center Volunteer Services, 150 E. Siebenmorgen Rd., Conway, AR, 72032.
