

Judi was crowned Miss Derrick in 1976 and graduated from Smackover High School in 1977. Judi worked in banking for many years in area banks including Exchange Bank and Smackover State Bank. Her last position was with the Federal Court in Corpus Christi, TX. The federal judge always requested Judi sing the National Anthem at the immigration and naturalization ceremonies.
Judi was a country music singer and recorded in Nashville, TN. Her record “Only Diamonds Are Forever” made the billboard charts. She traveled with a band, “The Hired Hands” from Hot Springs.
Judi was a member of Second Baptist Church in El Dorado, AR. She never met a stranger and had many friends. She always made sure her home was full of love for family and friends.
She is survived by her parents, Max O. and Jerolyn Taylor of Smackover, AR and her only daughter, Candice Dee Calloway of Austin, TX. She is also survived by two sisters, Vickie L. Kirk of Camden, AR, Teri L. Calhoun of Round Rock, Texas, One nephew, Steven Taylor Puska of Camden, and two nieces, Margaret Caroline Calhoun and Amelia Ann-Sarah Calhoun of Round Rock.
Services will be held through Young’s Funeral Home in El Dorado, AR. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and Services will be held at Young’s Chapel on Friday, June 20th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Dwain Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Smackover Cemetery. All that she knew or touched are welcome to attend.
