

Lucretia "Cissy" Cross, age 72, of El Dorado, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR due to a brief illness. Cissy was born on April 2, 1950 to Jack Walter and Mary Alice Goodwin Cross in El Dorado, AR.
Cissy was a 1968 graduate of Norphlet High School. At her time at NHS she was an all tournament basketball player, Homecoming Queen, and the feature twirler for the Norphlet Marching Band.
She began her college education at Southern State College in Magnolia, Arkansas, where she earned her R.N. Nursing degree and graduated with the class of 1970. After graduating she worked as an operating Registered Nurse for Dr. John Henry Moore in El Dorado, Arkansas. In 1975 she worked at UAMS as an operating room Registered Nurse. She worked at Radiology Consultants in Little Rock and later at Doctors Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. Later she decided to move back to El Dorado and worked at the Union County Health Department and was over the T.B. department and retired on November 9, 2019.
As a young teenager she gave her heart to Jesus and was baptized at Norphlet First Baptist Church. While living in Little Rock she attended Fellowship Bible Church and in El Dorado she attended Marrable Hill Chapel and First Assembly, but was unable to attend during the past few years due to being a caregiver for her mother. She loved coming to Cross Life Church helping her sister Jackye Swilley, who is the Children's Pastor, with making treat bags for children's ministry fellowship.
Cissy had such a loving and caring heart for people. She was a true reflection of God's special love.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Kathy Cross Williams.
Survivors are a sister, Jackye Swilley (Randy); brother, William 'Bud' Cross (Sherry) all of El Dorado. Four nephews, Marty Leach (Angel), Shane Leach, Yancy Leach (Leslie) and Will Cross. Three nieces, Lacye Swilley Russell (Matt), Angel Jerry Smith (Steven) and Kimber Jerry. Eight great nephews, five great nieces, three great-great nephews with another on the way and four great-great nieces.
She also has a special friend since grade school years who is like a family member- Becky Johnson Hammond.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2022 at Young's Funeral Directors.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Rehobeth Cemetery with Pastors J.D. Weido and Cody Smith officiating, under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
Serving as pallbearers are Matt Russell, Dude Lee, Eric Goodwin, Damon Goodwin, Kannon Leach and Donnie Smith.
Honorary pallbearers are Marty Leach, Will Cross and Shane Leach.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, Rehobeth Cemetery Fund, or to Cross Life Church Children’s Ministries.
