Lula Tabitha Murphy

Lula T. Murphy, 84, of Benton, formerly of El Dorado, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012, at the Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton. She was born October 4, 1927, to L.W. and Bertie Cheatham Hall in Lewisville, AR.

She was a retired bookkeeper for Murphy Appliance Service. Lula enjoyed working in her flower beds and vegetable garden and was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her loving husband of 48 years, Jack Murphy; and brother, Homer Hall.

Survivors include her daughter, Martha Lewis and her husband Chris of Benton, AR; two brothers, William Hall of Longview, TX, James Hall of Henderson, TX; and sister, Mamie Chamberlain of Henderson, TX.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 20, at Rehobeth Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors with Rev. Bob Inmon officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Young’s.
