Mabel Lee Hawkins

She was member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and the owner of Howard’s News Stand for over 50 years. Mabel was a member of the Business Professional Women’s club, Past Matron of the El Dorado Chapter 280 Eastern Star, and Woodman of the World.

Mabel is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard H. Hawkins, Sr.; son, Howard H. Hawkins, Jr.; daughter, Joyce Ann Freeman; and brother, Francis Claude Shepard.

Survivors include her two daughters, Pam Jordan and her husband Bobby of Hurst, TX, Ginger Lawrence and her husband Sam of El Dorado; sister, Becky Bachman and her husband Francis of San Angelo, TX; nine grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Young’s.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 10, 2014, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Steve Pelz officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
