

Marilyn Joyce Brashier, 89, of El Dorado, passed away, Saturday, January 7, 2017, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. She was born September 24, 1927, to Homer and Beulah Ann Allen Hill in Waskom, TX.
She grew up in Mansfield, LA, and won the second grade spelling bee and one year she was voted healthiest child in town.
Marilyn was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. Marilyn was also a member of the Pilot Club, she was the owner of the Wishing Well Clothing Store, and volunteered as a pink lady at the Medical Center of South Arkansas.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband of 54 years Burt Roswald Brashier; sister, Bennie Joe Trogel; and brother-in-law, Buddy Trogel.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie Brown (Robert) of Houston, TX; two granddaughters, Amy Lynn Poore of El Dorado, Allison Poore of Houston, TX; nephew, Bill Trogel, and three nieces, Marsha Borne, Rebecca Green, and Judy Simmons.
Visitation in fashionable attire with the family will be 3:00-5:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017 at Young’s.
A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Highland Cemetery in Mansfield, LA, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors with Rev. Lynn McClure officiating.
