

Born October 8, 1947, in El Dorado, he was the son of Virgil Lee Dixon and Bulah Mae Johnson Dixon. He retired from Georgia Pacific Corporation after 44 years of service. He was also a veteran of the United States Army, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Urbana. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbara Sue Dixon; his grandparents, Burt and Cora Dixon and Floyd E. and Willie Lelia McGowen Johnson.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary Isabel Graves Dixon; daughters, Melissa Motes (Stephen) of DeKalb, Texas and Christa Lyons (Tracy) of Junction City, Arkansas; grandchildren, Morgan Motes, Macie Motes and Stephanie Motes of DeKalb, Texas, Logan Lyons, Madalyn Lyons, and Micah Lyons of Junction City, Arkansas; sister, Janice Ballard (Don) of Urbana, Arkansas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, February 20, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Urbana with Ricky Watts officiating. Interment will follow at Urbana Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be from 5-7PM, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
