Mildred Frances Daniel

Born on December 4, 1924 in Camden, AR; Mildred was the daughter of W. Max and Ola Fincher Perry. Millie finished business school in Shreveport, LA; and then began a career in the oil industry. She retired as an administrator with Phillips 66 Petroleum after 33 years of service. During both Millie and Ken’s careers with Phillips they were able to travel throughout Europe and other parts of the world. Millie was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in El Dorado.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 63 wonderful years, James “Ken” Daniel, her brothers Bill Perry, Frank Corley and sister Brenda Darden, and a cousin Harold Lee Fincher.

She is survived by her daughter Alice Jane Hodges (Mark) of Santa Barbara, CA; son, James M. Daniel (Mary Alice) of Houston, TX; along with grandchildren Kimberly Hayes (Clarke); Kenneth Daniel (Brooke) and Catherine Daniel (Weston Benoit); Great grandchildren Clay Harger, Caroline Harger, Kate Daniel, James K. Daniel II, Evan Hayes, Hannah Hayes, and Chloe Hayes. Mildred is also survived by her siblings, Myrna Gathright (Bernard), Henry Corley (Nada), Mervyn Corley (Janice), Gary Corley, David Corley (Judy); Marian Corley, Alma Jean Fincher and numerous nieces and nephews.

Through the years Millie enjoyed traveling with her friends and family. She had a zest for life and was always busy; whether it was volunteering at the church, china painting, playing an intense game of scrabble, or her favorite pastime, shopping. She will always be remembered for her kind and loving personality.

The family will receive friends at Young’s Funeral Directors Wednesday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Funeral services will be held 10 am, Thursday, October 9, 2014 in the Chapel of Young’s with Rev. Kay Ruddell officiating. Interment will follow at Smackover Cemetery.

The Daniel family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Millie’s caregivers over the years; especially Cynthia for her companionship and loving care.
