Agustin G. Salcido was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather during his incredible 94 years of life. He was born on May 12, 1927 and passed away peacefully in the afternoon hours of Saturday, March 26, 2022.
One knew Agustin’s home was near by the sound of his lawn mower. His endless gardening and love of painting exemplified his appreciation for beauty. Most times silly and known as a big jokester, this Gachupín, family-cookout host was a fully dedicated father, brother, friend, and neighbor, sometimes all on the same Sunday afternoon! Agustin’s penchant for modeling hard work became a fabric of the Salcido family. First a Navy sailor, Agustin then became the first of the family to join the El Paso Natural Gas Company. He always beamed with pride knowing 7 members of the Salcido family followed in his footsteps at EPNG. Agustin made all feel welcome at his home (with delicious food made with love by his beautiful, late wife, Lupita). Muchisimas gracias, Dad, for 94 years of love, laughter, and togetherness.
Agustin will never be forgotten but forever remembered. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lupita, and son, Louie (surviving spouse, Lillie). He is survived by his children Magda (Ray), Fernie (Lupita), Gracie (Hector), Bonnie (Joaquin), Edward (Sandra), and his furry shadow, Lulu. Agustin leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He will always be our “corazon de melon.”
