Alexa Martha Elena Retana, beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Aged 27, passed away on July 13, 2023 and joined in hands with her mother Jacqueline Michelle Benecke, grandmother Martha Bauer and her aunt Nora Retana.
She was born on May 21, 1996 in El Paso, Texas. Alexa is survived by her daughter Genesee Nova Gonzalez, her brothers Michael Llanos, Sebastian Benecke and John Retana; grandfather Peter Benecke Senior; and grandmother Graciela Valladolid.
Alexa was a very determined, ambitious individual who wanted better for herself and her daughter. As well as being optimistic in helping others in the best way she can. She then decided she was going to become a nurse, which she then began studying and graduating from Community college. She continued pursuing that dream at UTEP. Not only was she out there pursuing her dream as a nurse, Alexa was also a full time mom and full time employee at MD Kids in Northeast El Paso.
Visitation will be held Friday September 29th from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., with Rosary at 7:00 P.M., at Funeraria Del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer Street, El Paso, Texas. Funeral Mass service will be held Saturday, September 30th, starting at 10:00 A.M. at Most Holy Trinity Church, 10000 Pheasant Rd., followed by a Graveside service at 11:00 A.M. at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
