Ana Maria Vejar

May 6, 1933 – February 26, 2026

Ana Maria Vejar, beloved matriarch and cherished great-great-grandmother, was welcomed into her eternal home and received her heavenly crown on February 26, 2026, in El Paso, Texas, at the age of 92.

Born in Zaragoza, Durango, Mexico, Ana Maria was raised in a large and loving family of nine children. Growing up in a modest, close-knit household shaped her lifelong devotion to family, resilience, and faith—values she carried with her throughout her life.

Her children, Rosalio de Jesús, Miguel (spouse, Carmen Vejar), Carlos (surviving spouse, Lydia Vejar), and Graciela (surviving spouse, Jesus Sanchez), completed their earthly journey before her; as did her siblings Jaime Fileto, Romelia Fileto, Hilario Fileto, Maria Fileto, Irma Garcia, and Elena Vera.

She is survived by her loving children, Clara (spouse, Antonio Villan), Francisco (spouse, Sara Vejar), José Luis (late spouse, Consuelo Vejar), Daniel, Enrique (spouse, Sandra Vejar), Sergio, and Ana Luisa (spouse, Russell Ortiz); her siblings Maria del Refugio Calderon and Elvia Fileto; her devoted husband of 70 years, Jesús Vejar; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who continue her legacy.

Nothing brought Ana Maria greater joy than watching her family grow across generations. She never allowed anyone to leave her presence without first giving a blessing en el nombre del Padre, del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo. It was her signature expression of faith and a reflection of her unwavering devotion, love, and heartfelt concern for all who crossed her path.

We will miss you for now, until we reunite again in the presence of the Lord.

A Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest West, 5054 Doniphan Drive, El Paso, TX 79932, US, on March 9, 2026 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

A Committal Service will take place at Memorial Pines Cemetery, 3061 Mem Pnes Rd, Sunland Park, NM 88063, US, on March 9, 2026 at 1:30 pm.

Pallbearers will be Sergio Vejar, Eric Calixtro, Jaime Sanchez, Carlos Vejar Jr., Jose Luis Vejar Jr., Alejandro Ortiz, and Valentino Ortiz.
