

ANDREA JOAN HEBERT SCOTT passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012. Andrea was born in Lafayette, Louisiana on January 15, 1941 to Arthur J. and Odette C. Michel Hebert. She grew up in Scott and Lafayette, Louisiana. Andy attended Mt. Carmel Elementary School, Hamilton Middle School, and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1958. She later graduated from Gertrude Leblanc School of Dance. She was a dance instructor and was a beautiful dancer. Andy was a graduate of Liberty University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration Management. She worked for many years as a purchasing agent, buyer, and logistician for several aviation fixed base operation and defense contractors. For many years, Andy was a member and officer of several Officers Wives Clubs around the world while being stationed alongside her husband; Col. James G. Scott (US Army Ret.). She was active in numerous volunteer organizations and helped with fundraising efforts that supported services for military families. Andy was a member of the Retired Officers Wives club, and on the board of directors as treasurer of the West Side Welcome Club, a volunteer and community support organization in El Paso Texas. Andy was loved by many people across the world and developed a great network of friends in El Paso, Texas. Her family is very grateful to the ladies of the “Fab 10 group” and the women of the West Side Welcome Club for all the support and loving condolences provided to us during this difficult time. Andy loved the symphony, UTEP sports, and was a hockey fanatic. She was an accomplished genealogist and wrote two books on the subject following the lineage of the Hebert and Michel family heritage. Andrea is preceded in death by parents and survived by: her husband, James G. Scott, Colonel, US Army Ret, Children – Jennifer (Donna) and Michael Scott (Tracy) Grandchildren – McKinsey and Bonham Scott, Margo and Charlotte Snider, Amanda Scott, Step Children – James G. Scott, Jr. and L. Grace Snider, Sister – Janice A. Scott (Lafayette La.), Nieces and Nephews: Jon, Mathew, Mark, and Lori, Grand Niece and Nephews: Leah, Christopher, Desiree’, and Harley, Great Grand Nephews: Isaac, and Brayden and Four pawed furry children – PD and Katie Scott. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (www.themmrf.org) Visitation will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with Rosary service at 7:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home West Chapel.
