Annie Will Creer Craft

On Friday, 20 November 2020, Annie Will Creer Craft, loving aunt of seven nieces and nephews, fourteen great nieces and nephews, passed away at the age of 90. Annie Will, affectionately called Auntie, was born 2 September 1930 in Meridian, Mississippi to Willie Creer and Annie Mack Carter. Her sisters, Louise Carter Brown and Anna Muriel Trotter, precede her as they passed in the order of their births. Ann was class salutatorian of TJ Harris high School, in Meridian, Mississippi. Ann received her Registered Nursing Degree from Freedmen’s Hospital School of Nursing at Howard University on 11 September 1958. She then went on to pass her Nursing Examination Board on 18 November of the same year. She had been encouraged to become a nurse by Dr. Jackson of Meridian, Mississippi for whom she had worked before attending college.  She then met and married Burnell Craft, who retired as a Sergeant First Class in the Army after 20 years of service. Upon retirement, they chose to remain in El Paso. 
While in El Paso, Ann worked as a Registered Nurse at Providence Memorial Hospital and William Beaumont Army Medical Center. She also worked as a School Nurse for Ysleta ISD at Eastwood Middle and Parkland Elementary School. Pastor and Sister Joyce Brown stated that her service at Shiloh Baptist Church included being a dedicated Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher, Usher, Trustee, Member of Missions, Bible Study, Christian Education, avid Visitation Coordinator and trusted friend. We love and miss you.

Ms Annie will be truly missed, our talks about the old times and the old sayings that my mom and grandmother would say. We had a many talks about Mr Barnel and her nursing days. She would always tell me "if I had a daughter I would want her to be like you." Love you Ms Annie and miss you.

Sister Craft was a dear friend of ours. We will always remember the love and kindness she showed us when we first came to Shiloh Baptist Church.  She remained a close and dedicated friend. She always had a smile and encouraging words to give us. We spent a lot of time together going to visit the sick and shut-in and attending to their needs. We also had special meals we shared very often. We Love you and will miss you. We know to be absent from this body is to be present with The Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8. We look forward to seeing you some day.
