On Friday, July 23, 2021, Antonio “Pete” Delgado Borja passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 88. Pete was born in Agana, Guam. He joined the United States Airforce in September 1951 and served his country proudly for eight years.
Antonio “El Chinito” -- as he was called by his co-workers -- worked for Borsberry Construction which later became Allied Paving for 46 years. He became a guru in the hot mix plant that created the asphalt for the City streets and was quite the wizard at regulating the levers to create the perfect asphalt blend that passed inspector testing on first try.
Antonio was preceded in death by his parents -- mother Rosa Delgado Borja and father Joaquin Gogue Borja; his daughter Mary Alice Ernewayn; his two infant sons Tony and Antonio Jr.; four brothers (George, Carlos, Trinidad and Jesse) and four sisters (Turivia ‘Terry’ Nelson, Rufina ‘Fina’ Flores; Rosa ‘Chai’ Lord and Flora).
He is survived by his loving, strong wife of 66 years Mrs. Alicia Acosta Borja, his daughter Rosie Borja V ; his loving and only remaining sibling - sister Maria (Lia) Cruz (Jesse d). He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Milissa Stephenson (Gavin); Ashley Ernewayn-Herrera (Peter d); Mario Antonio Ernewayn; Whitney Villanueva-Lopez (Willie); Carlos Villanueva (Mandy); Meagan Villanueva (Amanda Thompson); six great-grandchildren (Natalie Maldonado, Damian Ernewayn, Grant Adair, Angelique Lopez, Dean Villanueva, Arabella Lopez and Lyla Stephenson); along with a multitude of beloved nieces and nephews. ‘Daddy’, as he was lovingly called by all, loved his family fiercely and all that love was returned to infinity and beyond.
Pall bearers for the services are: Nephew Wade Paul; Nephew Donnie Borja; Grandson Carlos Villanueva, Grandson Willie Lopez, and Great-Grandson Kai Adair.
