Bertha was a mother, an unstoppable force raising one daughter and three sons. She was a grandmother, who welcomed her home as the place for her grandchildren's earliest memories. She was an advocate for her children, community members and neighbors; sparking change in her neighborhood to foster an environment where children can play safely and people can feel at ease. She heard the voiceless, and listened with open ears, often volunteering to pray for all those who needed it in her community. He heart nurtured her family and beyond, leaving a legacy of love.
Bertha Alicia Ayala De Chavira is survived by her three sons, daughter and 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two on the way.
