Bertha G. Rivas

Bertha G Rivas returned to our lord and joined her husband Salvador Rivas Jr and son Salvador Rivas III in heaven on December 10, 2025. Bertha was born on June 30,1926 to Carlos Gonzalez and Petra Dorado. A El Paso High graduate. A loving wife and mother, she was also an Avon sale person, realtor, War plant technician, department store undercover security, Girl Scout leader, Kodak film developer, portrait restorer, hospital candystriper, and Co owner with her husband of Optical Fashions eyeware.

She is survived by her daughter Terry Solis, son in law Carlos Solis, son Eddie Rivas and daughter in law Leonor Rivas. Grandchildren Salvador Rivas IV, Jessica and Michael Solis, Jason and Hannah Rivas, Kelly Rivas, Chris Chappell, Gina and Juan Toledo. Great grandchildren Antonio and Lila Toledo, Bowie and Posey Chappell, Harper, Everleigh and Sebastian Rivas, Malakai and Emilia Solis. Brothers Eddie Gonzalez and Richard Gonzalez.

Bertha was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, loved to crochet blankets which brought joy to those she gave them to. She will always be remembered for her kindness and unselfliness. Mom will be truly missed.

A visitation will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home, located at 1060 North Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas, 79915, on January 9, 2026, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. A rosary will also take place at Hillcrest Funeral Home on January 9, 2026, at 10:30 am.

The funeral mass will be held at St Pius X Catholic Church, 1050 N Clark Dr, El Paso, Texas, 79905, on January 9, 2026, at 1:00 pm.

The graveside service will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX, 79906, USA, on January 9, 2026, at 2:30 pm.
