

Beverlee Rose Drugan, 86, passed away on March 7, 2016. Her inner strength and faith was ever apparent in her last days surrounded by loving family. She was born in Waucoma, Iowa on April 21, 1929. She attended the University of Iowa for one year and spent two summers working in El Paso, Texas. She accepted the challenge of teaching on an emergency certificate at what is now Escontrias Elementary in Socorro ISD. There her principal instigated a “blind date” with George S. Drugan, Jr. Within a month, she was engaged, married in West Union, Iowa on July 1, 1950, and lived and loved a life with him for 55 years. Together they raised eleven children across Texas, Arizona, California, and settled back in El Paso. In 1981 Beverlee received a Bachelor of Science in Education from UTEP and a Master of Education in 1986. She spent years teaching students and mentoring teachers as assistant principal in Ysleta ISD. She is preceded in death by husband, George Drugan, parents, Lydia and Frank, brothers, Bob and Don Sieleman, and Dave Dolezal, Celestina Drugan. She is survived by children, Sam Drugan (Joan), Dan Drugan, Becky Pennies (Joey), Cindy Dolezal, Jennifer Muniz (Max), Elizabeth Durkes (Ron), Jocelyn Giner (Phil), Doug Drugan (Grace), Megan Brown, Shivon Loya (Mark), Carolyn Hinojos (Alex), 36 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren. Visitation/Rosary 3/13/2016 5:00 – 9:00 at Hillcrest/Carolina. Funeral Mass 3/14/2016 9:30 at Our Lady of the Valley.
