On Tuesday, March 28, 2023, Concepcion Licon Sandoval (Conchita), a loving wife, and mother of 10 children, passed away at the age of 92. She passed away unexpectedly at her El Paso, Texas residence while in her sleep with family around her.
Conchita was born on March 4, 1931 in Aquiles Cerdan, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Ramona Navarrete Licon and Jose Licon Ayala. She is survived by Francisco Antonio Sandoval Loya, her husband of 65 years. Concepcion was one of 11 children with Ramon Licon being the only surviving sibling. She was a loving mother and housewife who loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and was blessed with the birth of a fifth-generation blood line.
Surviving children are Mike (Sherry), Juan (Rosa), Enrique (Dora), Francisco (Sylvia), Robert (Linda), Sylvia (Daniel Rojas), Jose Luis (Dolores), Connie, and Fernando Antonio Herrera (Alma). Predeceased children were Roman and Jesus. Conchita was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Conchita enjoyed going to the Racetrack, the Casino, visiting with family in several cities of Chihuahua, sewing and gardening. Conchita was better known for her outgoing personality as she attended family weddings, baby showers, having drinks and coffee with her grandchildren and the numerous family and friends that stopped by.
Mom, we will miss your presence and all the joy you brought us. On behalf of your family and friends, may you rest in peace as you are now at home with the Lord (2 Cor 5:8).
Viewing will be held Friday, April 7, 2023 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, with Rosary at 10:00 AM, and Funeral service at 10:45 AM at Funeraria del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer Street, El Paso, Texas 79904. Committal service will follow Friday, April 7, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 8700 Dyer Street, El Paso, Texas 79904.
