Dan Martinez

Dan was born on October 4, 1952, in Monero, New Mexico, to Sevedeo and Bernice Martinez. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from New Mexico State University and earned his master’s degree from the University of Permian Basin.

For 45 years, Dan shared a life of love and companionship with his wife, Patricia Martinez. Together, they built a family and a home filled with joy, laughter, and faith. Dan was a proud family man whose greatest joy was his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He took immense pride in their accomplishments and loved sharing stories of their successes.

Dan was a faithful member of the Bel Air Church of Christ, where he found great joy in worship and fellowship. His deep commitment to his prayer life was a true reflection of his faith. Dan especially cherished reading the Bible. He drew daily inspiration and guidance from scripture and found comfort in sharing God’s word with others.

Dan was a member of the Toastmasters Border Toasters Club, where his sense of humor and passion for storytelling brought people together. His wit and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of hearing him speak.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his daughters, Yvonne Cardenas, Michelle Martinez, and Hope Martinez; his grandchildren, Vanessa, Veronica, Christian, Caleb, Violet, Eden, and Iris; his great-grandchildren Isaac, Isaiah, and Chloe; and his sisters, Ida Martinez, Cathy Chan, Patricia Herbias, Orlinda Baltarzar, and Pauline Martinez.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sevedeo and Bernice Martinez.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with a prayer service at 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. Following the service, a graveside ceremony will take place at 3:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Avenue, El Paso, TX 79906.

Dan’s legacy of love, faith, and joy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
