Diane was born November 21, 1952, grew up in Marlborough, Massachusetts, spent some time in Okinawa, and then made her forever home in El Paso, Texas.
In El Paso, Diane made her career as an elementary and middle school teacher in the El Paso school system. She had a great passion for teaching and focused on the individual needs of each student. She relished running into her former students later in life, many of whom commented on the impact that she had made on their lives. Such is the greatest recognition any teacher could wish for.
Diane lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents. She had a passion for sewing and quilting and enjoyed her quilter’s group and the many projects that they undertook. She supported the El Paso Police Department, especially the K9 units, and the Fire Department where she often brought baked goods to the station for them to enjoy. Diane loved to travel, especially visiting her ancestral homeland of Italy as well as many visits to New England to visit friends, relatives, and the Fall foliage. She had a passion for genealogy and had traced her family tree back many generations.
Diane was a kind and generous soul, always putting others’ needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her positive personality and dedication to her extended family and friends.
She is survived by her son David Nava, her brother Bill Arcudi, and her beloved companion of many years, Robert Hernandez, and his family, who will miss her dearly.
Per Diane’s wishes, no funeral services will be held.
