With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dolores G. Ballez, has gone home to rest. She was a woman of grace, strength, and deep love who blessed our lives with warmth and kindness.
Dolores lived each day with compassion and joy, always putting others before herself. Like a gardener tending her blooms, she nurtured her family and friends with patience and care. She had a gift for making everyone feel seen and cherished, leaving behind a flourishing legacy of laughter, wisdom, and faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Agustin Torres Garza and Elena Marquez, her husband, Tiburcio “Butch” Ballez, and her daughter, Zina Perez. She is lovingly survived by her children: Rosemary Rayas, Diana McCoy (Jack), Ida Bowman, Martin Ballez, Julie Perez (David), and Joseph Ballez (Michelle); her siblings: Yolanda G. Gonzalez, Rosalinda G. Flores, Teresa Garza-Flores, Eva G. Macias, Alfonso M. Garza, and Alfred M. Garza; as well as a bouquet of grandchildren and great-grandchildren—each a blossom in the garden she planted with her life.
Her love will continue to guide us, like flowers that keep blooming season after season. Her memory will live on in the stories we share, the traditions we keep, and the garden of love she planted in each of us.
