Dominga Sanchez

Dominga Sanchez, age 72, passed away of COVID-19 on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at The Hospitals of Providence – East Campus. Her life journey began on September 1, 1948, in El Paso, Texas to Alicia Gallegos and Leonardo Velasquez. Dominga has five surviving siblings: Alicia, Angelica, Lilia, Jose Luis and Maribel.

Dominga had a heart of gold and was the matriarch of the Sanchez family. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. She treasured spending time with her grandkids, laughing, dancing cumbias and country music. She had a vibrant personality and always made people around her smile. It would be impossible to count all the friends that she made over her lifetime.

Dominga is survived by her ex-husband; Leopoldo Sanchez and is the loving mother of three, Angelica; her daughter, Leopoldo and Leonardo; her two sons and many grandkids and great grandkids. Those wishing to say final goodbyes and pay respect to Dominga may do so between 11AM-1PM at Funeraria Del Angel on 8817 Dyer St, El Paso, TX 79904 on Friday, February 12, 2021. Please be respectful of the times listed above which are open to the public for viewing. Due to the current global pandemic crisis, it is with great importance that everyone attending wear a mask. Her family respectfully and humbly asks to not stay past the viewing window (1PM).

A private family commemoration will take place following the public viewing hours. Her service will be held at 1:30PM, burial at Restlawn Cemetery to follow, concluded by a “Celebration of Life” reception held by her children. Dominga was a faithful devout Catholic and the family has peace knowing God has her in his arms now and her family has her in their hearts.
