Edith Warren Ernst was truly an angel during her 91 years on earth always placing others first. Born In Norristown Pa. She is survived by her husband George Ernst, sister Winnie Sell, daughter Susan Ludwig, and husband Luther, grandson Gary Covert and wife, Kimberly, granddaughters Lilamani Schleicher and husband Andrew, great grandchildren: Maya Hashitomi, Rachel And Tyler Covert. She was preceded in death by grandson Tim Covert and great granddaughter Nina Hashitomi, Lee Ernst nephew. Ede is a graduate with honors, and most most popular from Royersford Pa High School Class of 1940, attended the Univ. of Cincinnati. Due to ill health of her father, Benjamin Reiff, she returned home, taking a position with Atlantic Refining Company. As a military wife and with Susan, we enjoyed numerous years and life time friends, and a permanent home in El Paso in 1963. Ede became the volunteer secretary at Western Hills Methodist Church and volunteered for 35 years at Providence Hospital. She was an avid bowler and bridge player. She was a kind-hearted and devoted friend of thousands.
Waiting for Ede with God are her mother Elizabeth Frohne, brothers Wilford and Harold Warner, step-father Benjamin Reiff, grandson Timothy Covert, great-granddaughter Nina Hashitomi.
A visitation service will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 from 5pm to 8pm at Martin Funeral Home West. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 10:30am at Western Hills United Methodist Church, 525 Thunderbird, Rev. Dr. Robert Pelfrey presiding. Followed by visits with the family with refreshments. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
