Edra Rosemary Edmonds

Edra Rosemary Edmonds passed away on March 21, 2016, at 99 years of age. Edra was born October 20th, 1916 in Tucson, Arizona. She attended North Texas Teachers College and met her husband Claude while teaching 1st grade at Berino grade school. Claude was living with Claude Kilgore, his uncle, in Berino and drove a fuel delivery truck when he met Edra. They built their home at Anthony Country Club in 1963. Edra was a homemaker for her husband Claude and their three sons. She remained in the family home after Claude’s death in 1991 for the next 25 years. She was an active golfer and supported the ladies golf association and the country club in various ways for over 60 years. She loved her family, many friends and especially her home where she was an active gardener. She was preceded in death by her father Frank, mother Lena, husband Claude, three brothers Frank Jr., Bob, Charlie and her sister Fay. She is survived by three sons, Pete, Bobby and Mike in addition to six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at St. Luke’s Episcopal Parish in La Union, New Mexico, Saturday March 26th at 3:30 PM, immediately following will be a graveside service at the Anthony Memorial Cemetery and a reception at Anthony Country Club. The family is sincerely grateful to her devoted caretakers Martha, Reyna, Mayra and Lupe.
