It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Eddie. He brought joy and love into the lives of everyone he knew. He will forever be remembered for his loving personality, passion for coaching, and being a great mentor to many. Eddie was also an avid woodworker and master gardener.
Eddie was a Navy Veteran, loving father, grandfather, and devoted spouse. He touched the lives of many through decades of teaching and coaching high school football throughout the state of Texas.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Aida, of 47 years, sons Eddie Jr. (Brandy), Adrian (Stephanie), and Gabriel. His beautiful grandchildren who knew him as “Coachie” Sophia, Sabrina, Sienna, and Adrian Reign, his mother Juanita and brother Arturo (Gloria) and extended family and friends. Preceded in death by his father Esteban. He will be greatly missed and cherished in our hearts forever.
A visitation for Eduardo will be held Monday, April 22, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a vigil service at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 12:30 PM at Saint Mark Catholic Church, 11700 Pebble Hills Blvd, El Paso, Texas 79936. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, Texas 79906.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Gonzalez Jr., Adrian Gonzalez, Gabriel Gonzalez, Victor Portillo, Rene Portillo, Roy Portillo, Arturo Gonzalez, Jezreel Gonzalez.
