God’s loyal servant was called home by our Lord on Monday, March 28, 2022. He passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his beloved family. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Yolanda Hernandez Grado, and their 4 children: Griselda “GG” (Alice Silva), Gina (Carlos Truax), Georgina, and Gilberto (Jessica Grado), and longtime family friend Ana Carrillo. Also survived by his Siblings: Alfonso Grado, Santiago Grado, Bertha Casas (Fernando), and Martha Grado. 8 Grandchildren: Sarah, Danielle, Ryder, Timothy, Taylor, Charles, Kayla, Marley, and 1 Great Grandchild: Elijah. Is preceded in death by his parents Teresa and Alberto Grado, brother Alberto Grado Jr, and Grandchild Luke Van Truax. Was a graduate of Jefferson High School and UTEP, Proudly served 4 years in the US Navy as an Air Craft Mechanic on the USS Midway and was a Vietnam Veteran, became an Engineer for the El Paso Electric Company for 30+ years, retired, and became an avid golf enthusiast. He was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, uncle, nino, and friend. He was a wonderful man who will be dearly missed by many.
Visitation to be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a Vigil at 6:00pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home East, 1060 N. Carolina Dr.
Funeral Mass to be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 11:30am at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 8011 Williamette with a Graveside Service to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
