Ernestina B Hernandez

Ernestina “La Güera” Hernandez was called home on the morning of August 3, 2025, surrounded by the love and support of her devoted family. Born in Mexico, La Güera made El Paso her home in 1954. In 1970, she married the love of her life, late Carlos Hernandez, and together they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage.

She is lovingly survived by her children:

• Rachel Mendez (Cesar)

• Carlos Hernandez Jr. (Traci)

• Eduardo Hernandez (Diane)

Grandchildren:

• George Gonzalez

• Edgar Delira

• Vincent Hernandez

• Victoria Hernandez

• Elisa Hernandez

Great-grandchildren:

• Giovanni Delira

• Marytza Gonzalez

La Güera had a heart for helping others in their times of need. She found joy in dancing to Mexican music and oldies, cooking for loved ones, and hosting family gatherings. Above all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her warm spirit and love will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in our hearts.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the Hospice of El Paso West. Their compassion and dedication brought great comfort during her final days.
