Esmeralda Sosa Duffus of McKinney, Texas passed away on April 10, 2022 at the age of 71. She was born on November 19, 1950 to Modesto Gilberto Sosa Reyes and Natalia Venzor Marquez in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Esmeralda married Marvin Laverne Duffus on November 5, 1976 in El Paso, Texas. She spent her career as a public educator in McKinney Independent School District. Esmeralda loved oil painting, travel, and going to concerts.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Laverne Duffus of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Esmeralda Heather Duffus Zeegers and husband, Jelle Zeegers of McKinney, Texas and Evelyn Sosa Logsdon; grandson, Richie Fierro and son-in-law, Travis Logsdon all from Kansas City, Missouri; son, Oliver Sosa from Las Vegas, Nevada; three sisters; two brothers; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Esmeralda was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home, 128 North Resler Drive, El Paso, Texas 79912. Graveside Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas.
