

Frederick Ray Bunn passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2015 following a lengthy battle with cancer. Fred was born April 5, 1947 in Del Rio, TX and moved to El Paso at an early age graduating from Ysleta High School and The University of Texas at El Paso. He led a diverse life in many capacities as a student, truck driver, laborer, master accountant, corporate CEO, educator, small business owner, and a Vietnam War Naval Veteran. His most loved profession was teaching accounting at EPCC where for over 20 years he touched the minds and hearts of many students. He was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and friend. Fred is truly loved and will be cherished and missed by many. Fred maintained a special place in his heart for his dear family and caregivers Grace and Ward Vaughn, Lisa Wheeler, and Steven Driscoll during his final months. The family would like to thank his medical team especially Dr. Jesus Gomez for their care. Their sacrifices cannot be overstated and they are deeply appreciated by friends and family alike. Fred was preceded in death by his parents Troy and Helen Bunn, his beloved son Jason Bunn, and his brother Marty Bunn. His immediate survivors include his sisters Betty (Tommy) Wheeler, Paula (Jesus) Hernandez, and Christy Jaksch, brothers Larry (Connie) Bunn, Greg (Glenna) Bunn, daughter LeReese Lutich and grandchildren Dylan and Shelby Whitfield and adopted sons Steven Driscoll and Richard Rodriquez. He is also survived and truly loved by his adopted family John and Judy Driscoll, Tom and Josette Shaughnessy, Bob and Patricia Hall, Joe and Margot Shaughnessy, Tim and Mable Shaughnessy, and Ward and Grace Vaughn. Pallbearers are Tommy Wheeler, Larry Bunn, Greg Bunn, Richard Rodriguez, Steven Driscoll, Ward Vaughn, and Tim Shaughnessy. Funeral services will be with Crestview Funeral Home 1462 N. Zaragosa on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 with visitation from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and a rosary and a funeral liturgy at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral gathering will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at Crestview Funeral Home followed by a funeral procession at 10:30 a.m. to Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations made to the Reynolds Home, a Shelter for Women and Children will be greatly appreciated.
