Served under Top Barrett in Bad Hersfeld, Germany, 3rd Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment in 1981. He was a good man, a good leader of men. RIP

I worked at Pebble Hills Post Office with Mr. Barrett as his Supervisor.  Mr Barrett was an excellent carrier and a perfectionist in his duties.  He was good to have as a co-worker since he met up to the challenge of every day with enthusiasm and succeeded in his daily goals.  He was very polite with me- a gentleman is the best way to describe him.  I pray he is looking at us and realizing that happiness one earth is but a glimpse into what heaven holds.

Once again God saw the road was getting rough, and the road of life had become too hard to for SGM George Robert Barrett, USASMA Class 24 to travel and called him home.  You remind us, Lord, through Solomon that to everything there is a season.  We thank You for the earthly life You gave to this sergeant major and for the blessing during the sojourn here on the earth.  We most especially thank You for the new life You granted this sergeant major in Jesus Christ.  He broke the bonds of death by His resurrection.  We rejoice at the hope of being reunited with him in the resurrection of all flesh.  The NCO Corps thanks him for his selfless service act and his willingness to defend of America and all that we hold sacred.   I believe for every fallen sergeant major like him there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift God has given the Corps.  Rest easy, sleep well my brother.  Know the line was held, your job is done.  Rest easy, sleep well. Others have taken up where you fell, the line has held.  Peace, peace, and farewell

Uncle George, I will miss you. Thank you for the blessings you bestowed upon me. No one ever thinks about how much someone means to them until tragic times...I'm just grateful that I was not one of those people. Rest in Peace Uncle George and continue to shine on us from above.

   You were truly my inspiration for entering the military.  I will forever remember seeing you in uniform and wanting to be like you,  Thirty years later retiring with great pride representing what you laid out decades before.  You were a great brother always to mom and Ann Marie and a great uncle to all of us.

Robert, been a while since I last saw you. You will be missed by all that knew you. We served together at the Sergeant Majors Academy over 28 years ago before I retired. You were one fine man and a great friend to all.

I will miss my dear friend George. A truly compassionate, considerate, caring man with so much faith.  The world was a better place with him in it, and now he is in our hearts and memory forever.

I have you in my heart. Also your voice on my phone. No more pain, Jesus knows how much we can bear. Love your sister Sudie Davis.

You will be missed. I will miss the talks and advice you gave me my dear brother. RIP. Love Annie Marie.

Rest in piece beloved friend and long time neighbor. I will miss your cooking and your parties. Every time I hear all the birds in my bird sanctuary I will think of our playful jousting. Thanks for saving my house from fire, I learned how to operate the fireplace. I will miss you. You are in heaven now, but I stay behind in tears. Friends forever, command sargeant major (see I didn't forget the 'command' part).  Today I fly the flag in your honor.

Sincere condolences to Jessica Barrett Adams and the entire Barrett Family. Will always remember your father's laugh and the love he had for Sarah, Sammi, and Jack.

My prayers are with Brother George Barrett's family and friends during this time of bereavement. We pray that you would find comfort in knowing that he was a man of Faith,trusting God through it all. His strength was a testimony to me and my husband.
