Gloria S. Olan

GLORIA SIQUEIROS OLAN, born in El Paso on March 8, 1929, went home to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, Thursday, July 7, 2011. Our Mom was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was a faithful and dedicated follower of God, and served Him in the following local churches: Iglesia Primera, Iglesia Trinity, and most recently was a member of Scotsdale Baptist Church. She touched many lives throughout her more than 35 year career as an educator with the YISD.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Angela Siqueiros, and is survived by her children Jose, Luis (Yolanda), Robert (Elaine), and Rebecca (Miguel); and their father, Jose R. Olan, Sr., eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. She is also survived by siblings Jesse, Samuel, Esther, and Dolores Siqueiros.

Mom’s love of worshipful music was evident in her lifelong participation in church choirs and as a solo vocalist. She also served her community for a number of years, as a volunteer worker in the El Paso Baptist Clinic. Our mother’s testimony and witness to Christ is the embodiment of who she was and will forever be. Her loving memory will forever be in our hearts, and our hope lies in the promise of the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” Psalm 121:1,2, and 8.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel Martin East. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 11:00 am at Scotsdale Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
