Gylene Bostick

JANUARY 29, 1943 – SEPTEMBER 30, 2023

Gylene Kunkel Bostick, age 80, of El Paso, Texas passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023. Gylene was born in Pheonix, Arizona on January 29, 1943, and was raised in El Paso by her parents, Aulcie Kunkel and Georgia Day Kunkel.

After graduation from El Paso High School, Gylene eloped with her husband William "Bill" Bostick. Gylene celebrated her 61st wedding anniversary with Bill on September 15th, 2023.

Gylene and Bill lived in various locations during Bill's military career, including assignments in South Korea and Okinawa, Japan. She and Bill returned to El Paso in the early 70's where they raise their sons, Bill Jr., and Ken. Her family grew with addition of Ken’s wife Keely and Bill Jr. added Sydney. She was a loving grandma to Keiran and Ainsley, daughters of Ken and Keely. Grand puppies, Badger and Ozzie, sons of Bill Jr. and Sydney were included in her family.

Gylene worked for the El Paso Public Schools as an educator for many years. Later, Gylene shared her love for the elderly and animals through her care giver and pet sitter businesses.

She was a member of Western Hills United Methodist Church. She gave to her community through volunteer work at the Seconds to Go thrift store.

A graveside service for Gylene will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 1:30 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave., El Paso, Texas 79906.
