

Hector Flores was born on January 26, 1936 in Juarez, Mexico and moved to El Paso, Texas in 1941. Hector is survived by his daughters Martha Warren, Rowena McKenzie, and Barbara Flores. He was preceded in death by his wife, Celia L. Flores, and daughter, Judith Michelle Lujan. He graduated from Cathedral High School and Texas Western College (now UTEP) in 1965 with a degree in the sciences with an emphasis in mathematics.
Hector was a member of the 19th Rifle Regiment Marine Corps Active Reserve for seven and a half years. He worked for the El Paso City Planning Department as a city employee for eight years and, for the last three years as Zoning Administrator and Secretary to the City Planning Commission. After his departure from the El Paso City Planning Department, Hector worked for the El Paso Natural Gas Company in the Data Processing Department. Later, he started his own business as a real estate broker dedicating his business in the far east side of El Paso in Horizon City.
Hector was a member of the Texas Board of Realtors. He was an active member of Holy Family Church and served as a member of Holy Family School Parent Teacher Association as President for five years. He was also an active member of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral and Saint Patrick’s School Parent Teacher Association. Hector was also an active member of, and served as the president of El Paso High School Band Booster Club for several years. He was also an active member of Unión Católica de San José and Queen of Peace Church. Hector was well known for his descriptive and engaging storytelling and will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will cherish those memories.
Visitation will be on Sunday, July 13, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM with Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Dr., El Paso, TX 79912
Mass will be on Monday, July 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Graveside Service to follow at 11:30 AM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, TX 79907.
