Helen Lewels Eddings, 84, of El Paso, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 13,
2025. She was born on November 25, 1940, in El Paso to Francisco and Aurora Lewels.
A proud graduate of Burgess High School, Helen married her high school sweetheart, Albert Roy
Eddings. They shared nearly 66 years of marriage—a lifelong partnership rooted in love and faith.
Together they built a family filled with devotion, laughter, and strong values. Helen was a loving wife
and devoted mother to their three sons, Albert, Pete, and Joe. She was the glue that held her family
together—the historian, the peacemaker, and the spiritual leader who guided them with her steadfast
love.
Helen worked tirelessly throughout her life. She began with cottage industry work from home and later
pursued a career in retail, where she rose from cashier to manager and ultimately to area manager,
traveling to open and oversee multiple stores. She was admired for her strong work ethic and
leadership.
Her many loves included her family, arts and crafts, and finding special “treasures” while shopping.
Above all, Helen’s greatest passion was her love for Jesus. She was the heart of her family’s faith,
leading each of them—including her beloved husband—into a relationship with Christ. This enduring
gift gave her the deepest peace and happiness, and it will continue to bless generations to come.
Helen cherished her role as “Grandma” and “Great-Grandma.” Nothing brought her greater joy than
time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, celebrating milestones both big and small,
and passing down her love, wisdom, and faith to them.
She is survived by her husband of almost 66 years, Albert Eddings; her three sons, Albert Eddings Jr.
and his wife Kristi, Pete Eddings and his life partner Claudia Mendoza, and Joe Eddings and his wife
Shay; her grandchildren, Courtland Ogren, Farrin Castillo, Jordyn Garcia, Natalie Eddings, and Nicole
Eddings; and her great-grandchildren, Elize, Ryan, Kyler, Elan, Poppy, and Beau. She is also survived
by her brothers, Joe Lewels and his wife Hilda, and David Lewels and his wife Margaret.
She will be remembered for her strength, her love, and the faith she instilled in all who knew her.
A graveside service for Helen will be held Friday, September 19, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 4848 Alps Dr., El Paso, Texas 79904.
