

HELEN ARAUJO SIERRA, 95, passed away on March 8, 2015. She was born on June 4, 1919, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was the youngest of eleven children. During the 1930s, she lived with her family in Albuquerque, NM, before settling in El Paso in the 1940s. She worked as a ticket agent for Greyhound Bus Lines, where she met her husband, Eddie Sierra, originally of Canutillo, TX. They were married for 43 years, until his death in 1991. Helen is survived by three children, Christine Sierra, Albuquerque, NM, Edmund Sierra and wife, Sylvia, Katy, TX, and Theresa Sierra-Reveles of El Paso, TX; granddaughters Paloma Q. Sierra, Andrea and Cassandra Reveles; niece Carmen Medrano, nephew, Rudy Araujo and wife Sandy, and numerous great nieces and nephews. Helen is also survived by her brother- and sisters-in-law Sammy Sierra, Lydia Gallegos, and Annie Koch.
Pallbearers include Eric and Mark Koch, Al and Richard Medrano, Sam Navarro, and Eddie Reveles. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Second Chance Wildlife Rescue, El Paso, Texas, www.wildliferescueelpaso.org or a Hospice organization of your choice.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 5:00 to 9:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm at F.D.A. Martin Funeral Home East. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 13, 2015 at 9:00am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1050 N. Clark Dr. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley.
