Herbert Engram Mole was born on February 22, 1927 in Hampton County, SC to David Cameron Mole and Mae Priester Mole. He was taken into the presence of our Lord on February 26, 2018. He joined the US Army in 1945 and was stationed at Fort Bliss, TX where he met and married Elizabeth “Betty” Jones in 1950. He served his country until 1965 during which time he served in WWII and the Korean War. He was honored to be the chauffeur for many US Army Generals including General Omar Bradley. After retiring as a 1SG, he served in a Civil Service job at White Sands Missile Range until 1975. Herbert will be remembered as a loving, kind, giving and generous husband, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth “Betty”; sister, Bessie Bibeau; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Ruby Mole; sister-in-law, Barbara Jones; brother-in-law, Arnold Treadway and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded before him were sisters, Reba Atkinson; Sadie Cope; brothers Harry, Moley and William Mole; sister-in-laws Patricia Addington and Ruth Treadway; and brother-in-law Robert Jones.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 1:00pm and viewing from 11:30-1:00pm at Kaster, Maxon and Futrell at 8817 Dyer, El Paso, TX. Burial at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 2:30pm.
